Praising God for Answered Prayer

It rained all day. I sat in a small room, praying and hoping that the rain would not keep the Fulakunda believers away. Today was the day that the training was supposed to begin. I had been away for a month and a half. I did not know if they would even remember. I prayed, "Lord, all I desire is for Your name to be glorified. If they show up, I will praise You. If they do not come, I will also praise You." As the rain began to slow down a little, two men showed up. "Thank you Lord," I prayed. Missionary disciples a new believerSoon the room had five, then six, then 10, and soon there were 25 men and women seated around the room. Wow! This was not the 10 believers I had discipled nine months ago before going to the United States; it was beyond my expectations. As introductions were made, I soon realized that these were the leaders of various outreach groups and that there were not just a few believers, but God had multiplied the work to be even greater than 100 new believers. "Praise be to God! May your name be glorified among the Fulakunda." I wept and began to teach these new leaders with humility.

God continues to open hearts among the Fulakunda to grow in the knowledge of Christ; many are wanting to know and hear more. Since our initial meeting with the leaders, we have continued to meet regularly with strong believers and leaders who are begging for more training. They asked if they could meet together to continue working on evangelism strategies and also to address issues that are coming up in their daily ministry among people in their communities. Since then, we have come together on a monthly basis to look at scripture and discuss how they are addressing these issues based on God's Word. We have also learned that the total number of believers is now more than 160! Seventy-five of these believers are Fulakunda and the rest are neighbors and friends from other people groups. Praise God for what He is doing among the Fulakunda people. Ask Him to continue to multiply the number of Fulakunda believers. Pray that these believers will be faithful and bold as they share Christ with others around them.
