MKs In Action
Part 1 – Ministry at all Ages

God gives "missionary kids" (MKs) of all ages opportunities to be involved in effective ministry. Many MKs in West Africa are walking beside their parents and sharing Jesus with others. Thank the Lord for already putting a burden in their hearts to carry out His plan to share the Gospel message. An MK plays with her friends

We sat and visited with A*.'s family, ate, and drank some very strong Arabic tea while our daughters played with their friends in the village. Some time later, our oldest daughter, Elizabeth, came over to Elaine and me, very excited. She whispered in my ear that she had just shared the Gospel (in French) with A*.'s 12-year-old niece who had then prayed to receive Christ! Since we could not overtly react because of where we were, we rejoiced quietly. Once we arrived home, I called A*. on his mobile phone to tell him what happened. However, he informed me that his niece had already told him that she was now a believer and wanted to follow Jesus!

On another day, Elizabeth and her sister Alex invited some of their West African friends over to the house from the local French school that they attended last year. After they had fun playing together, Elizabeth decided it was time to get serious, so she got out her French Bible and began to read passages to these girls. True to form, Elizabeth gave the Gospel presentation and two Muslim girls said that they wanted to become followers of Jesus!

Thank God for giving Elizabeth courage to share her faith and proclaim His Truth in a very dark place. Praise God for the salvation of these young West African believers. Ask the Lord to increase their new faith and understanding as He draws them closer to Himself.

Our son Noah, who is 14 months old, is already sharing the love of Christ among the Hausa people. Noah has such a wonderful spirit about him and enjoys his time in Noah with a Hausa grandmotherHausa villages as well as in city neighborhoods. He always attracts much attention and when we introduce him, we always ask if they know the story of Noah and the Ark from the Bible. All of the grandmothers in the village call Noah their sweetheart, explaining that it is a cultural tradition for the grandsons to be the sweetheart of their grandmother. A few months ago, Noah accompanied us during a visit to an orphanage to help translate for a volunteer team. Noah played well with all the children and they loved helping him play with his toys and reading him books. He always smiles and laughs at the little beggar boys who come to our window at each stoplight and together we pray that they will come to know the love of Jesus.
