An Engaging Church* in Action

"More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ" (Philippians 3:8). This particular scripture came to mind recently after a young man accepted Jesus as his Savior. We were traveling in the southern region of Senegal with an Engaging Church* team from Calvary Baptist Church of Neosho, Missouri. a engaging church member shares the Word with West African nationalsWhile visiting with one household, the team shared the creation to resurrection story. This young man, hearing the story for the first time, accepted Jesus as his Savior. After being asked how we could pray for him, he replied, "I would like to know Jesus better!" Of all the things he could have requested - food, an abundant rainy season, good health - his heart's desire was to know Jesus. Please keep "T" lifted up to the Father as he seeks to know Jesus better. Ask God to reveal Himself to "T" in miraculous and glorious ways.

The Calvary team was also afforded the opportunity to share the same story to a large group of women. One older woman listened intently as the beautiful story was told. After hearing this, she said, "I am tired and weary, but what you say brings me hope and comfort." Jesus says, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Intercede for "Mama" as she begins a new life with Him. Ask God to give her rest in Him each day.

This month (Nov. 7-17) the Calvary team is in Senegal again, continuing their work among the Mandyak. This team will begin a work in the capital city of Dakar among a neighborhood of Mandyak people. They will also return to southern Senegal to disciple the believers - fruit from some of their previous trips. Pray that God will put a hedge of protection around this team as they travel, minister, share Good News, and disciple among the Mandyak. Pray that God will continue to open the hearts and minds of the Mandyak people to His Truth. Ask God to provide many opportunities for this Engaging Church to share more from His Word. Pray that the seed will fall on good soil.
