The Pana are primarily agriculturalists, living in a remote area of Mali. They are neighbors with the Marka-Dafing in Mali and many are bilingual in Bambara. However, the women and small children continue to speak Pana. Many of those who live in Burkina Faso are bilingual in Jula.
